| 多种测试分析结果表明，小海石的主要化学成分是碳酸钙，含量为８１％－８２％，并含有一定量的镁及少量的钠、硅、铁等。药理实验结果表明，小海石具有明显的镇咳作用，效果与蛇胆川贝末的镇咳作用相似。东北三省惯用小海石止咳平喘，疗效确切。小海石的来源、性状与历代文献记载的海浮石来源，性状均不相同。 |

| The analytic results showed that the main content of Xiaohaishi was calcium carbonate,about 81% -82% and a certain amount of Mg and some Na,Si,Fe etc. contained as well. It has been indicated that this drug has an obvious antibechic effect by pharmacological experiments. The population of North-east three provinces of China have been habituated to use Xiaohaishi for relieving cough,asthma and dyspnea and got striking efficacy. The source, shape and characters of Xiaohaishi are different from Haifushi according to literatures. |
