English Summary:
      To study the effects of taurine on amygdala kindling development and kindled seizures in rats. Electrical stimulation of the right amygdala (400uA, 60Hz, square wave for one sec) was given one time a day. An average of daily consecutive 13 stimulations was needed to reach the rirst V stage seizures, at which the rats showed behaviorial convulsions and electroencephalographic abnormalities. Intraceretroven-triculal injection of taurine (200ug, 400ug) significantly inhibited the amygdala kindling development (P<0.01),but no effect on fully kindled rats. It suggested that taurine had played an important role in preventing the forming and development of neurosis related to epilepsy.
