| Objective to study the hypotensive and antiasthmatic actions of mannitol hexanitrate (MH). Method The methods of tail artery and arteriae carotis communis intubation were used to detect the hypotensive action of MH on hereditary hypertension,and normal rats. The preventive effect of MH was observed in experimental bronchial asthma caused by histamine and acetylcholine. Result After MH was taken by po for thirty days in succession, MH has shown a hypotensive action on hereditary hypertensive rats. Blood pressure of rats was reduced by 26 + 8mmHg. Taking the medicine per oral (80mg/kg) and duodenal (40,80mg/kg) ,MH had not an obvious effect on blood pressure of normal rats in the methods of tail arteries and arteriae carotis communis intubation. The asthmatic incubation period was prolonged for 33?0s by MH (80mg/kg) in the experimental bronchial asthma. Conclusion The results of the study suggest that MH produces a mild hypotensive action on hereditary hypertensive rats and a preventive effect on bronchial asthma. |
