| Fucoidans, the acid polysaccharides with sulfate ester, have many biological properties and pharmacological functions. Its antithrombotic activity is especially potent. Fu-coidans have both antithrombotic and fibrinolytic properties by inhibiting the generation and the activity of thrombin, and by enhancing the activation of plasminogen by tissue plasmino-gen activator (t-PA). |
