| Asteroidea (starfish) contains saponins, sterols, anthraquinones, alkaloids, phos-pholipids and some other components. The extracts and purified compounds from starfish have shown a variety of phyarmacological activities; in vitro cytotoxicity towards normal cells and tumor cells, inhibition of bacteria, antiviral, hemolytic, hypotensive and anti-inflammatory activity. |
