Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR)belongs to the Cys-loop receptor family of ligand-gated ion channels mediating many physiological activities in the nervous system, and are important drug targets for treatment of neurological diseases. It contains both the muscle-type nAchR and the neuron-type nAchR. And nAChR is a pentamer consisting of five subunits with a central channel. The recent advances of the structure of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor have been introduced in this article. |
