English Summary:
Diabetes is one of the most common non-communicable diseases in the world, and its incidence is increasing year by year. Diabetes and its complications have become a global public health problem, so more effective drugs are urgently needed. Marine life is very different from land because of its special living environment, so it is potential to find novel anti-diabetic drugs from the marine environment. The pathogenesis of diabetes is very complicated. Among them, SIRT1 protein and mTOR signaling pathway play important roles in diabetes progression. This article mainly summarizes the roles and mechanisms of SIRT1 protein and mTOR signaling pathway in diabetes and its complications in order to provide new targets for the screening of anti-diabetic marine compounds, accelerating the development of China"s "Blue Drug Bank" project.
